The real seaworthy Ark.

Some “modern” theologians will claim that Genesis is mostly allegory, or symbolic writings that don’t convey history or facts. Especially criticized are chapters 1-11 that depict creation and the flood.  These events seem spectacular to us and we have never witnessed such happenings.  But Chapter 5, smack dab in the middle of these chapters. relates the lineage between Adam and Noah.  A detailed line of history that I would suggest is very difficult to label as “symbolic.”  This lineage between Adam and Noah represents over 1.700 years.   There is very little mentioned in the Bible about the first 1,700 years of human history other than it was full of violence Genesis 6:11.

During this first period mankind had no law and they followed their sin nature to the point God was grieved about creating us.  Genesis 6: 5-8

We were taught that the millions of fossils we find on earth were laid down over millions of years.  This is impossible.  Fossils need to be buried rapidly to form at all.  Today many are finally realizing this, even some atheist scientists are admitting there had to have been a world-wide deluge. 

If there were a worldwide flood, we would expect millions of dead things buried in rocks layers laid down by water all over the earth.  And that is exactly what we see.  Fossils only form when animals are buried quickly.  We know what happens when dead things lie around.  They rot away or they are eaten.  No fossils from that.  Untold millions of bison roamed the west and have died, no fossils there.
