Slavery — Living Safe-t

You are a slave to something. You are a slave to what you devote yourself to. Whatever God wants you to give up and you will not, is your master. Don’t be slave to sin. God wants so much more for you. God wants you to be free of that master, the one that wants you to be “self-serving.” Serving yourself, or any sin will bring misery.

Serve God and others.

What you dream about having is your master. The lie children tell each other today is that if their parents demand things from them, or establish boundaries for them, they don’t really love them. This is the same lie the enemy of our souls tells us. If God doesn’t grant you whatever you want, God doesn’t really love you. Parents mostly want to teach and save their children from injury. God wants to save you from heartache. As a child doesn’t always know when to stop eating candy, a spiritual child doesn’t know when to stop sinning.

Romans 6:16

Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?

Matthew 6:24

"No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
