Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Officer, Public Safety Officer
Mark is a 27-year retired U.S. Navy Master-at-Arms Senior Chief Petty Officer. He is an experienced, certified military police investigator, Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Officer, and Physical Security Officer. He has worked alongside military and civilian experts with a diverse background in security assessment and training.
Mark has managed and led a team of 72 Force Protection Sailors at a regional level providing Active Shooter Response and firearms training, Physical Security Assessments, and Anti-Terrorism Assessments. Through local threat analysis and physical security assessment, facilities were brought up to standards. As the Regional Anti-Terrorism and Force Protection Program manager, he and his team created security protocol and instruction which were adopted and implemented as U.S. Navy force-wide standards.
Mark has created and led Active Shooter scenario based practical exercises that provided valuable insight into the perspective of multiple victims involved in which key variables are identified and assist first responders while negotiating the building. These kind of practical exercises establish an environment of safety and security where none existed before. Mark deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan where he managed and led a team of multi-national Force Protection for over 28,000 military and civilian personnel.
